Education & Past ExperiencesJoe earned a D. Min. in church growth from Fuller Seminary and serves at FFMC as a missional and urban strategist. He has served the Free Methodist Church as a pastor, church planter, denominational executive, missionary and college professor. He pastored the Rainier Avenue Free Methodist Church in Seattle’s Rainier Valley for thirteen years. While there he and his wife Caryl were honored by the denomination with the “B.T. Roberts Earnest Christian Award.” Their previous ministry in Seattle was followed by two years of urban mission work in Manila, Philippines. Joe has taught on both the undergraduate and graduate levels here and overseas, and ministered in several countries. He recently completed twelve years in the Philosophy-Religion Dept. at Greenville College. He and Caryl lead the community group known as the journey and coordinate community care.
