Pastor’s eNote: 3rd Week of Lent

Throughout the season of Lent, we have been placing a significant emphasis on prayer. Besides our Lenten devotional, our mid-week Wednesday prayer, and pausing for prayer at 12:24 each day, we also have been gathering for prayer each Sunday in our prayer room. The prayer room is to the left of the stage in the Sanctuary. Anyone who would like to join in a time of prayer before our worship begins can join us in the prayer room at 9:45 a.m. each Sunday. The prayer room is also open after worship for quiet prayer and meditation.

On Friday FFMC was honored to host the inauguration of Dr. Deana Porterfield as the 12th President of the Seattle Pacific University. It was a Spirit-filled time to give thanks to God for His faithfulness to SPU and its deep roots to our church along with the entire Free Methodist Family. We are grateful for the blessing that Deana and Doug bring to our church during this time of her presidency at SPU. Let’s continue to pray for them often!

Last Sunday our worship series “Practice Makes Possible” focused on the role of the Bible in our daily lives. The scriptures are a significant means of grace for us to know and experience the love of God. This Sunday, the sermon will focus on Holy Communion. I pray that we each experience the presence of Jesus in a new way as we gather around His table.

I hope to see you at our Night of Worship, THIS Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m. for pizza dinner in the Upper Fine Center followed by worship in the Sanctuary at 7:30 p.m. This time of praise, prayer, and reflection is a great opportunity to bring everything we are before the Lord.

Work is already well underway for our annual Eggstravaganza on Saturday, March 23. We need many volunteers to make this event a success. This is an important time for us to host many of the families at North Queen Anne Childcare. I know this event will open new doors with many families. You can sign up to volunteer here:

May these closing days of February be filled with God’s Spirit at work in your life and in the life of FFMC. I look forward to seeing you soon.

Grace to You All,
