Pastor’s eNote: Easter Season

Greetings to you all in the Name of Jesus, the Living Lord.

Holy Week at FFMC was a great blessing. At Maundy Thursday worship we were inspired with powerful music, worship, prayer and the dramatic reading of Jesus’s passion story. I am thankful to our choir, our music directors, Scott and Lisa, our tech team, and our gifted readers: Adrienne Meier, Nolan Palmer, and David Dickerson.

Easter Sunday was no less powerful. From fantastic music, prayer, and communion, we could certainly tell that the Spirit of God was moving in our midst. It is always a joy to see new and familiar faces on Easter Sunday. Let’s keep praying that resurrection power continues to move in our church and among all those present in-person or online Easter Sunday!

Don’t forget our important Town Hall meeting on Saturday, April 6 at 9:00 a.m. We will hear updates from the pastoral team and members of our Leadership Team. Please bring a simple breakfast food item to share in our informal potluck before the Town Hall begins. Everyone is welcome to participate either in-person or online via Zoom.

If you have yet to do so, please make sure you have the FFMC app on your smartphone or tablet. All our sermons, podcasts, and church events are there. You can also find all these resources on our website at ffmc.org. We have some important dates coming up you will want to share in. All the details are in the app or our website:

* Baptism Sunday, May 19

* Graduate Sunday, June 2

* FFMC Annual Meeting, June 23

* New Member Sunday, June 30

We are also excited that FFMC will have a stewardship campaign focused on generosity as an act of discipleship for three Sundays in June. Rather than having a focus on our church’s need to receive, we will be focused on God’s call for each of us to be giving generously. The campaign will feature sermons by Pastor Craig and the campaign led by John Glancy.

I hope to see many of you this Saturday at the Town Hall Meeting! May Easter joy be yours in abundance!

Grace to You All,

Pastor Craig Brown
