Pastor’s eNote: New Worship Series
“The Coming Presence” is the name of our new worship series at FFMC. We begin this new series on Sunday, which is also the first Sunday of Advent. This series and all of the events in the life of our church help prepare us for the celebration of Christ’s Nativity.
During this series, we will center on how Advent is a season of preparation for the second coming of Jesus. Our focus will be less on the end times (eschatology) but will call our attention to the work of spiritual preparation; namely, how can we wait in patience, practice generosity, engage in repentance, and embrace mystery. Each week of Advent will give us time to center our hearts and lives on Jesus, the soon and coming King.
There are gatherings and resources to support you along the way between now and Christmas.
Join the Sunday “Carol Sing” before the 10:00 a.m. Sanctuary Worship each week.
Pick up a hardcopy or digital version of our Advent devotional, “Changed in the Waiting.”
Help at the Christmas Carnival with the families of North Queen Anne Childcare December 5.
Join Christmas Eve worship at 5:00 p.m. on December 24.
May our lives be deepened in love for the Lord as we experience the “Coming Presence” of Jesus. What a gift it is to journey this Advent with all of you! I look forward with hope, peace, joy, and love for the remembrance of Christ’s first coming and his coming again in glory.
Grace to You All,
Pastor Craig Brown
