Pastor’s eNote: Weekly Update

Sunday worship was a wonderful celebration of our high school and university graduates. Congratulations to each of them as they enter this new season of life. All of you in the FFMC family were eager to greet each graduate and pray God’s blessing on them. Let’s all continue to pray for them, their families, and the new communities they will share in.

You hopefully received your letter from our stewardship team over the weekend. This Sunday we will hear from two members of our team in worship as they focus on our worship theme, Treasure Matters. I’ll be sharing a sermon from Luke 16 about how we hold our finances as disciples of Jesus. Our financial giving is very much a part of our discipleship.

Rather than a “contribution,” we see our gifts to the church as a strategy of stewardship. All of the resources within our care belong to God. We simply manage and allocate them to the things we believe are in line with the Spirit’s call. When we see the ministries of First Free, it’s a clear call; this is a work that God is blessing and calling us to support.

Also, if you would like learn more about becoming a member of FFMC, I’ll be leading a luncheon and class THIS Sunday, June 9, right after worship. You can sign up using this link and the lunch is on us! Register at ffmc.org/events for the Membership Class.

The leadership of FFMC has been hard at work on our planning and budget for our upcoming fiscal year beginning on September 1, 2024. The Leadership Team will be sharing much about our strategic plans for the coming year along with our budget at the FFMC Annual Meeting immediately after worship on June 23, 2024. If you plan to share in the luncheon as part of the meeting, please register at ffmc.org/events.

During our stewardship campaign I encourage all of us to be in prayer for this important effort surrounding our church’s financial support. Our entire staff and leadership give thanks to all of you who regularly support our church with your gifts. God is doing great things. It is a blessing to support all God is doing in Jesus’ Name!

Grace to You All,

Pastor Craig Brown
