Pastor’s eNote: Weekly Update
It has been a joy for me to share in leading our youth ministry with Jayde McCarrell since last year. Our youth group is made up of two groups of teenagers. One group is comprised of young people who are part of families connected to FFMC for years. These students who are established in the life of our church are committed to engaging and learning each week. Another group of teens who are attending are often unseen by our Sunday congregation. They are youth whose families do not attend FFMC but find our youth group to be a safe space. They are at the beginning of their faith journey. It is exciting to see these two groups interact each Wednesday evening.
Next week, nine of these youth will be at Black Diamond camp for a week. They will learn and grow in their faith. They will engage with young people from across the region. They will share in worship and hear the good news of Jesus Christ. Please join with me in praying for them next week. May Christ’s light shine in their hearts!
Ministries like these with students and young people are among many ways we see the Spirit of God at work at FFMC. There are stories from our worship team, children’s ministries, Fostering Hope, and so many others. I hope we can find more and more ways to share these remarkable stories of the Lord’s work in our church. So much good is happening!
I hope that each of you has been prayerfully considering your financial discipleship as part of our stewardship campaign this year. Bettina and I join you in deep reflection and joyful hope for our church’s future. Now is the time for each of us to share in God’s work at FFMC. I hope you will turn in your commitment/pledge card by this Sunday. There is also a QR code on each card which will take you to an online website to make your commitment to give.
As always, let us pray for one another and the life we share in FFMC. God has called our church to mission and ministry in wonderful ways. May we each join that work as God leads us.
Grace to You All,
Pastor Craig Brown
