Pastor’s eNote: Weekly Update

A few weeks back I shared with all of you a saying from my dear friend, the late Bill Lichty, about always knowing when your next vacation is scheduled. Since that sermon, I have heard from several of you about your next time away. Allow me to not be the exception!

Sunday after worship, I’ll be leaving for Ireland for a little over two weeks. The first week will be dedicated to playing six rounds of golf over seven days with dear friends near Letterkenny in the north of the country. We call ourselves the “Four Corners” because we live in Seattle, Orlando, San Diego, and Boston.

Following the golf adventure, Bettina will join me in Ireland as we stay in Killarney and then Galway before returning to Dublin for our flight home on October 1. We will be celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary a little early since the weather in Ireland might be questionable on November 12 which is our actual anniversary.

This will mark our first time away, in earnest, since my brain surgery in January. We are looking forward to some rest and renewal before I return to preach on October 6. I am grateful for our entire team of leaders who will tend our church well while I am away.

When I return, not only will I continue preaching through the rest of the fall, but I will also be teaching again at Seattle Pacific University. Be praying now for the 40 undergraduate students enrolled in “The Christian Faith” course with me. I’d encourage you to also be praying with Jenny Young (FFMC’s Production Manager) and Colin Chandler (FFMC’s Audio Director), both of whom are also teaching at SPU this fall. Moreover, our Modern Worship Director Lisa Moe will be deeply engaged with SPU students who want to develop their skills for serving on our Modern Worship team.

I am so very thankful for our church family, our Leadership Team, and our staff team who continue to support the vital ministry of our church day in and day out. Let’s all continue to pray for the work of our church each day.

See you on October 6!

Grace to You All,
Pastor Craig Brown

P.S. I’ll be here this Sunday to share in our Celebration Sunday led by Pastor Camille and our Colombia Mission Team.
