Pastor’s eNote: Weekly Update

FFMC had its last Town Hall meeting on February 1, 2025. Our gathering was an important one in which we shared some of our questions and concerns about the future of FFMC’s buildings, our ministries, and mission in Seattle.

Since that meeting the Leadership Team has been focused on the key “takeaways” from that meeting. These “takeaways” help shape the foundational issues which will sustain our church for decades into the future. This week, I’d like to share those “takeaways” with you.

* Three options for our buildings were discussed at the Town Hall Meeting: 1) Do Nothing, 2) Sell Everything & Move, or 3) Stay & Develop our Property. “Stay & Develop” emerged as a clear direction. It is, however, the most confusing option.

* Attendees said the church’s mission and vision were crucial. Decisions about future building use, partnering with a developer, and FFMC’s core mission field were discussed.

* The mission and direction of FFMC related to NQACC (North Queen Anne Childcare) was a recurring theme.

* The assembled group understood monetizing the property through a partial sale or lease, but lacked clarity on how the funds would cover the refurbishment or replacement of the deteriorating Wilson Building.

Each of these issues are incredibly important. Between now and our Annual Congregational Meeting on June 22, the Leadership Team is praying over and working on each of these takeaways. My invitation to you is to be in prayer for our Leadership Team and our church as we wonder about God’s great next season for FFMC. There are wonderful opportunities to hold God’s vision for our church close in the coming days. Let’s continue to seek God’s call for us in Christ Jesus.

Grace to You All,

Pastor Craig Brown
