Pastor’s eNote: Weekly Update

Easter in 2025 is almost as late as it can be. April 20, 2025, is the first Sunday after the first full moon after the spring equinox. Yes, that is exactly how we know when Easter will happen.

We also know that Easter HAS happened. Jesus’ resurrection is the second part of a story of how we are given new and eternal life. Easter is our annual celebration of Jesus’ victory over death for himself and for the sake of all who call upon His Name.

Life in Jesus happens because of the death of Jesus. Each year we follow a tried-and-true tradition of following Jesus from the upper room dinner with the disciples to the Garden of Gethsemane to Jesus’ trial and eventually his crucifixion. These are all separate events, but part of one story of salvation.

I hope you will make Holy Week, when we remember each of these events, an important part of your life in Christ this year. Here are some of the details:

Maundy Thursday Night of Worship, April 17 @7:00 p.m. – Join our worship team for a reflective and powerful time of prayer, praise, and healing. We will share in holy communion, reflect on Jesus washing the disciple’s feet, and the vigil of prayer in the Garden. We will have a special time for healing prayer as part of our worship.

Good Friday Stations of the Cross, April 18 @ 12:00 p.m. – The FFMC community will meet in Pioneer Square to begin a walk through various artwork depicting Jesus’ journey to the cross. Join Pastor Camille and me as we lead you through this rich experience as part of the PraySeattle movement.

Easter Sunday Worship Celebration, April 20 @10:00 a.m. – Be sure to join in a powerful time of worship and praise as we hail the resurrection of Jesus from the dead. Come early to place flowers on the living cross and soak in the love of God which has changed everything!

May your Lenten journey with the Lord continue to bring new life to you in abundance. I look forward to seeing you in worship in-person or online.

Grace to You All,

Pastor Craig Brown
