Pastor’s eNote: Weekly Update

“How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” Romans 10:15b

During worship on Sunday, visiting preacher Rev. Zach Jacobsen encouraged us to step deeper into the waters of God’s transforming grace. We experience and radiate abundant life as we are filled with the love of Jesus by His Spirit. We will have remarkable opportunities to love and serve people in the name of Jesus.

Amid the unimaginable tragedy in Texas with over 150 lives lost, we lament and pray as the body of Christ. You may also effectively give of your resources towards the FM Bishops’ Crisis Response Fund at the top of our giving webpage (ffmc.org/give).

Our Vietnam Missions Team is leaning heavily on your prayers as we depart on Wednesday night at 2am from SeaTac. One of our team members is still waiting for VISA approval. Asia Area Director Eric Spangler told me that the VISA process has never been this difficult. Right before a mission trip, it can feel a lot like getting caught in a storm. I am thankful we have our Savior in the boat, who speaks peace to the waves. Thank you for joining us in prayer. You can journey with us through the Prayer Guide, which you can access daily at ffmc.org/events.

The Rooted and Raised Day Camp is going to be an incredible opportunity for us to build relationships. Starting on Wednesday, July 30th, through Friday, August 1st, we will welcome our youth group and their families, friends, and caregivers to FFMC for a time of fun and connection. Kids and teens will get small group Bible study, Godly-play, life skill groups, and game time. Each day will conclude with a family-style dinner, which is designed to encourage community building. This is a clear call to be God’s beloved community for those who are longing for safety and belonging. There is a place for everyone to serve: transportation, food, organization, and programming. Email Directors Jayde@ffmc.org or Hannah@ffmc.org .

As Pastor Craig and Bettina continue their time of rest and renewal, Rev. Dr. Allison Coventry will be preaching this Sunday. She is currently the Assistant Superintendent of our Pacific Northwest Free Methodist Conference and was once on staff at First Free. She recently joined Pastor Craig in leading our group on the pilgrimage to Scotland and England. We look forward to responding to God’s Word this week.

May our eyes be open to bringing the beautiful, good news of Jesus to someone today.

Grace & Peace,

Pastor Camille
