Pastor’s eNote: Weekly Update
FFMC has a long-standing relationship with Seattle Pacific University. Several of our pastors at FFMC have served as Presidents of SPU, and a fair number of faculty and staff have made FFMC their home over the years. We are thankful for these lines of connection with FFMC serving as an “anchor” for SPU’s legacy as a Free Methodist institution.
The ties between SPU and FFMC continue to be strengthened with SPU’s new Campus Pastor Rev. Fred TenEck. Pastor Fred is a Free Methodist Elder and an inspired leader. Many of you at FFMC had a chance to hear from Pastor Fred on Sunday, September 28 when we had a chance to pray with him in worship. I plan to have Pastor Fred bring the sermon during Sunday worship very soon.
Many of you know that I am teaching again this fall at SPU. What you may not know is that our Production Manager Jenny Young and NQACC Director Cara Wardlaw also teach at SPU.
Sam Mathews, our Worship Director, has been cultivating deeper connections at SPU. (His wife Brianne is a graduate of SPU!) His collaborative work with the chapel team and other SPU leaders has brought us to a special place of shared ministry on Monday, October 20 at 6:30 p.m. in the FFMC Sanctuary.
FFMC and SPU are hosting a Night of Worship together to lift up SPU at the beginning of this school year. In praise, prayer, and reflection, we will gather to intercede for SPU’s leadership and students. I hope you plan to be there to share in this important time of shared worship.
Let’s all continue to pray for thriving days at FFMC and SPU. I’ll be there to worship and pray on October 20, as will Pastor Camille and Pastor Tim. Please be sure to join us!
Grace to You All,
Pastor Craig Brown
