Pastor’s eNote: Weekly Update

Greetings to you all in the Name of Jesus, the Living Lord.

FFMC is a church filled with blessed and gifted people. Dr. Doug Strong brought an important sermon for us to hear on Sunday and Pastor Bonnie did a wonderful job leading worship for us along with Scott Higbee and Lisa Moe.

Pastor Camille has now returned from her daughter’s graduation in Southern California. I am in Austin, Texas for a week of vacation visiting friends who recently moved from California. One of these friends is a years-long prayer partner and part of my monthly “band” meeting where the focus is on our discipleship and our walk with the Lord. I’ll be returning before this coming Sunday and will be opening our new worship series this week.

Our new series is called “Divine Dance,” which is a title recently popularized by Fr. Richard Rohr but has been around for quite some time. Divine Dance is a three-week series exploring how we encounter the Holy Trinity of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. In our case, we will be focusing on each person of the Trinity in a different order.

* May 12 – The Son and how Jesus makes us right with God and one another. (Ascension Sunday)
* May 19 – The Holy Spirit and how we are made one through the Spirit’s gift-giving power. (Pentecost Sunday)
* May 26 – The Father whose purpose is to restore us to being His children. (Trinity Sunday)

I am praying for all of us to have a deeper experience of the Triune God who is always coming to us, reaching out to us, and seeking to transform us. While we can often be a fickle and distracted people, God is always faithful. He longs for the whole world to know and experience His love.

Thanks be to God!

Grace to You All,

Pastor Craig Brown
