Pastor’s eNote: Weekly Update

Easter blessing to you all!

I am so very thankful to God for the wonder and glory of our Easter celebration on Sunday. Christ is risen!

During this Easter season (which lasts for 50 days), we are looking at some of the hardest contemporary topics for Christians to deal with. The resurrected Jesus gives us courage and strength for hard conversations with the belief that God’s victory over death can bring life to so many important issues of our day.

Our worship theme will be, “Critical Issues of Our Times – How we relate to some of our tough topics.” My hope is not to persuade folks to any particular opinion on any subject. I do believe that the Risen Christ invites us to hold these topics in a way which reveals Him at the center. Too often we are informed by pundits, social media influencers, and other secular leaders more than we are a vision for Christ. I pray we can gain some “Jesus Lenses” for how we see these topics.

April 12 – How Christians Relate to War

April 19 – Liberating Women

April 26 – How Christians Relate to AI (Artificial Intelligence)

May 3 – How Christians Relate to DEI (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion)

May 10 – How Christians Relate to Anti-Semitism

May 17 – How Christians Relate to Nationalism

This is a perfect opportunity to invite friends and family who might have strong opinions about these topics. The approach will be respectful and generous each week. Our divided world hungers for a place where we can engage tough topics with grace. May the weeks ahead demonstrate our capacity to think, wonder, and pray about the critical issues of our times.
