Pastor’s eNote: Weekly Update

It was wonderful to share in the reception of four new members and three baptisms on Sunday. These are moments of great joy for us as we celebrate what God is doing in our midst. Join with me in praying for more moments like this in the coming days!

These events were important! In the moment of joy this Sunday, we also started a new worship series called “Created for Good.” This new series explores how we care for ourselves and all creation. Our focus will be on the Genesis story of creation and how God has provided for each of us and all created things. This self-giving love of God not only draws us to deeper service but it also encourages us to share the news of being loved by God.

Each message in this series builds on the previous one. I encourage you to listen to each week’s Bible study called “Passages” as a way to prepare for each Sunday. Take time to listen and wonder about what the Spirit might be saying to you as you prepare for each Sunday’s sermon. You can listen to “Passages” or Sunday sermons on the FFMC podcast at ffmc.org/media.

The celebration of new members and baptisms is evidence of the love of God at work in our world and church. We have been created for good. May the coming weeks be filled with moments of God’s grace made known through Jesus Christ.

Grace to You All,

Pastor Craig Brown

P.S. While I am away on pilgrimage in Scotland and England, Rev. Dr. Brian Lugioyo will bring the message on Sunday, May 11. Stay tuned to next week’s eNote with a special update from Iona, Scotland!
