Pastor’s eNote: Weekly Update

Greetings to you all in the Name of Jesus, the Living Lord.

This Sunday we will be celebrating those who serve on a regular basis at FFMC. There are dozens of individuals who dedicate hours per month or week serving in various areas across the life of our church. As a church staff, we want you to know that we see you!

Celebrating those who serve is wonderful way to give thanks for the tireless dedication of so many. It still has a pitfall: I am sure we will forget someone. Our time to celebrate this Sunday is for those who are serving in some capacity on a regular basis. There are some groups we will celebrate later, like our choir or those in elected leadership. There are those who are always ready to pitch in on an ad hoc basis whom we can honor at another time.

For this Sunday, we wanted to celebrate those who serve week-in and week-out. For example, our tech team is made up of paid staff and volunteers. Since we never see them due to the fact that they work in our balcony each week, acknowledging them before our congregation is important. In the same way, those who are serving in children’s ministry are on the third floor during Sunday worship. We want to celebrate them too.

There are many who are dedicating time each week or on a scheduled basis. We want to say “thank you” to all of them. We hope you will join us Sunday during worship when we will give thanks to God for them and, after worship, in the Upper Fine Center for cake and cookies in their honor as part of our Sunday Café.

I am thankful to serve such an engaged congregation. We will have more opportunities in the future to express our gratitude to all those who serve in our midst.

Grace to You All,

Pastor Craig Brown
