Pastor’s eNote: Weekly Update

It is good to back with all of you in the life of FFMC!

Bettina and I enjoyed our time traveling during most of July while on vacation. We are thankful for a great staff and team who continued to advance the church’s ministry while we were away.

This Sunday is an important celebration at our Sunday Café. Melinda Howard will be concluding her tenure as our Director of Facilities at FFMC this week. We will share a time in Sunday worship praying over “Mindy” as she moves into this next season of her life. Following worship, there will be a reception for Mindy in the upper Fine Center during our Sunday Café.

Please feel free to bring cards or letters for Mindy to convey your thanks for her 9 years of service at FFMC. We do want to send her forth with our blessings!

Camp Rooted and Raised is also happening this week. Our Family Ministry Director Hannah Huskey and Youth Coordinator Jayde McCarrell are organizing a fantastic week with children, youth and families beginning on Wednesday afternoon this week. I am thankful for those who are serving in ministry at the camp this week. We will all look forward to the stories of where we saw God at work during this time.

All of this is happening while our gym floor is being resurfaced! Work continues this week, and we hope that everything is wrapped up by next week. Feel free to take a peek in the window to see how the work is progressing.

Join me in prayer for all of these important milestones. We are leaning into a wonderful season of God’s love at FFMC where we are counting on God’s faithful direction for our church. Prayer is such a key part of keeping our hearts and minds aligned with God’s mission. God is at work all around. May we have eyes to see it!
