Pastor’s eNote: Weekly Update

Our time on Sunday to share our thanksgiving to God for Melinda “Mindy” Howard was a wonderful expression of love to Mindy. I am thankful for our generous and loving congregation in moments of transition like this.

Over the last month, we have been engaged in the process to hire an Executive Administrator/Pastor. We are nearing the conclusion of our discernment process with some very talented candidates.

This new position of Executive Administrator/Pastor is quite different from the Director of Facilities position once filled by Mindy. The decision of the Leadership Team to change the nature of this position is important to understand. This new position will have oversight of all the operational details of FFMC including:

FINANCES – Working directly with our Finance Team and other staff to oversee the church’s financial condition, budget, and expenditures.

HUMAN RESOURCES – Serving as the “head-of-staff” to ensure that FFMC and the NQACC staff have the support and resources to accomplish their goals.

FACILITY – Overseeing the facility use and maintenance for both FFMC and outside organizations in partnership with our Facility Team.

DEVELOPMENT – Serving as the key point person in the church’s effort to develop its property for the next 50 years of mission and ministry.

With this new staff person on board, I will be able to relinquish a significant amount of work related to operations and administration. My efforts will focus more on community outreach, networking, and helping our church gain deeper focus on our Way of Life and Way of Discipleship.
