Pastor’s eNote: Weekly Update
“With joy you will draw water from the springs of salvation.” Isaiah 12:3
I thank God that I get to experience the joy of my salvation with you. We are filled to overflowing by the power of the Holy Spirit to share the good news of Jesus with a thirsty world. Here are some meaningful ways you can do this in the life of our church:
- Pray for our FFMC Vietnam Missions Team, as we cover all the details at home and work to leave on July 17th. This Sunday (7/13), we will commission Lindani Sungeni, Jenny Young, Jon Pook, and me in the power of the Holy Spirit to represent FFMC in loving people and connecting to Jesus, as we serve children, young adults, and FM Leaders in Vietnam. You are encouraged to join us daily in committed prayer for every aspect of this mission. Pick up a printed Prayer Guide in the sanctuary foyer. Support financially at ffmc.org/give – drop down “Vietnam Missions Fund”. Click here for Prayer Guide PDF or go to ffmc.org/events.
- Share in the joy of Jesus with a toddler. Your dependable, loving care is needed as our 0 through 4-year-old group continues to expand on Sunday mornings. Committing to serve once a month is a big blessing for our young families. Contact hannah@ffmc.org to join the Nursery Team.
- Camp Rooted and Raised is happening at FFMC on July 30 – August 2nd, 2 pm – 7 pm. This family day camp is an outreach for all ages, especially rooted in the growth we’ve seen in our youth ministry. Family Ministry Director Hannah Huskey and Youth Ministry Coordinator Jayde McCarrell have designed a place for YOU to serve. Whether it’s transportation, food, set up, or programming, there’s something for each of us during these 4 missional days. Register with your availability and interests at ffmc.org/events.
What may you be called to do? We experience God’s abundant love and grace in new ways when we step out in obedient trust. Please pray for the refreshment of Pastor Craig and Bettina as they take some well-deserved vacation. Our summer sermon series, “Water and the Spirit,” continues this Sunday with guest preacher Rev. Zach Jacobsen, an ordained FM Elder and Associate Director of SPU’s School of Theology and Seminary. Looking forward to all that God has ahead for us.
Grace & Peace,
Pastor Camille Pook
