Pastor’s eNote: Weekly Update
Celebration Sunday is here!
FFMC made some significant breakthroughs this summer. Our first was Camp Rooted and Raised as we engaged with children, youth, and families in a completely new model of family ministry. At the same time, our first mission trip to Vietnam with Free Methodist World Missions took place. Both ministries offer us all a new vision of God’s work in our midst and in our community.
THIS Sunday will be a celebration of all we saw God do in these two remarkable events. At our Sanctuary Worship, we will hear stories and testimonies along with a renewed challenge to share in the next season of ministry in new ways.
Based on what we have learned from the Vietnam Mission and Camp Rooted and Raised, FFMC is now focused on:
- Friday Night Fellowship: A monthly faith-centered approach to building a new community of children, youth, and families at FFMC.
- 2026 Vietnam Mission: Our next offering to deepen our partnership with God’s work through Free Methodist World Missions.
- 2025-2026 Urban Impact Cohort: I, along with several members of our team, are participating in Urban Impact’s Thriving Congregations Cohort to better plan, pray, and vision for God’s work in our community.
- October Night of Prayer & Worship: We continue to cultivate a deeper connection and life with SPU as we offer this new night of worship focused on prayer for SPU.
You see, a Celebration Sunday has little meaning for us until it helps us discern and ignite God’s work in our church. While we look back to the wonderful works of the Lord this past summer, we now look forward to how God is building us up for the season to come. Celebration Sunday is not just about the past. It is celebrating our future as well.
Grace to You All,
Pastor Craig Brown
